Remember to fill your fresh water tank before setting up because most sites are electric only.

I tried to book a site on the island but they booked as soon as my date was available. We settled for 011. The vault toilet is very close to the campsite and the winds the first day were not favorable..
The site was very short, as my 22 foot trailer tongue was about on the ground to get level as the drive slopes up from there. The trip was overall nice. I had good Dish satellite reception, but little or no C-Spire phone service.

The woman (sorry don’t know her name) she has been in office this year for both times we checked in, has been the most pleasant and helpful person this park has employed in years. She has made it a pleasure to stop at office and doesn’t mind dealing with issues that may pop up, I have to say in previous stays it has not been this way

This is a very special place! There are no bad campsites. Mine was one of the newer sites, with water and electric. The cement pad was smooth and clean. I had a nice picnic table with a roof for shade. There was a guardrail and then the lake just steps from my camper's door. You can fish right from your spot! The views rival the Caribbean in sheer beauty. One can see the sunrise and the sunset from this peninsula. I drove around the area a little bit and enjoyed the views at the Dam Overlook (2 of the flood gates were open!) and at Parker's Bottom, as lovely riverside fishing spot.
The campsites are spaced widely. There is a lot of green space, a wonderful little beach, many geese to entertain, and peace.

We really enjoyed how quiet it was here, it was maybe half full. The views were really nice and being right on the water was awesome. It rained most of the time we were there so we were confined to the camper for the most part but we did enjoy it.
A word of caution though - a bunch of the sites are down some pretty steep drives and have turns in them as well so be prepaired. We had site #16 with a steep transition from the road to the drive but I was able to get my 27' trailer down and in with just enough clearance.
I don't know much about anything to do around there, we just enjoyed the quietness and the views.
We have US Cellular as our phone service provider and the coverage was pretty good.

From Eureka Springs, Arkansas, take Highway 62 West and travel nearly 4 miles. Turn left on Highway 187 and continue for about 6 miles. Turn left at Park entrance and continue to the site, located before the dam.
From Rogers, Arkansas, take Highway 62 East for nearly 24 miles. Turn right on Highway 187 and travel 3 miles, crossing the dam. The park entrance is the first right after the dam.
