Location was good, Beautiful ! the weather wasn’t all that good but we made the best of it. There was a considerable amount of ants in which I was prepared for by bringing some spray. So I do understand the other reviews about the ants I think they probably can be taken care of with a little spaying! Space 10 in area A in which we are in once you back into it you are pointed going out the park so if you stay amount of time where you need to dump you need to go out The front of the park and come back in to the dump station. Which wasn’t convenient! Park was clean!

We were in a 36’ 5th wheel. The road was very curvy and had blind turns. It was difficult. The site was hard to level. The campground was not built for large trailers.

We absolutely love Joplin. Nice spacious campsites with nice picnic tables. Bathrooms are alway clean. We have camped at Joplin multiple times in the past year and are planning more trips this.

Getting There
From Hot Springs, Arkansas: Take US 270 west for 23.5 mi to Mountain
Harbor Road. Turn right and follow access road three miles north to the park.
Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- Check-in is at 6 PM and check-out is at 4 PM.
- Self-check-in cards must be filled out and attached to your campsite post upon arrival.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Vehicles & parking
- Off-road vehicles are prohibited in the park.
Fires & fuel
- Firewood must be purchased locally and burned on-site to protect forests.
Site capacity
- Campsites 35-63 have uneven terrain and may not accommodate large camping units.
