Camp Joplin offers a relaxing and beautiful camping experience with spacious sites, convenient amenities like clean showers, and stunning views of the lake, making it a popular choice for visitors. Many campers appreciated the helpful hosts and well-maintained facilities, enhancing their stay. However, some guests reported issues with ants and noise from the sewer area, which could detract from the experience for a few. Overall, most would recommend returning to this lovely location.

DO not rent this site if you plan on privacy or tent camping and you are just going to park your car and grill. There was not a single place to put a tent - barely enough room to even count the site as your own. HORRIBLE

Great place to camp. Unfortunately the lake level was quite low, with no rain in the forecast. This is our favorite Corps location to camp on lake Ouachita.

What a lovely campsite! While overall it isn't super great for a big rig like ours, we loved our campsite! We we there after the Labor Day holiday and it was very quiet. Which was a plus on the road as it was narrow and curvy with blind corners! We plan on coming back!

Read a review about an ant problem and hoped and prayed we wouldn’t get an ant infested camp spot. Well we got spot 13 and it was pretty well infested with ants. I ended up packing up and leaving first thing in the morning and the ants got in both our vehicles and all of our stuff. The views here at Joplin are amazing and the secluded area is amazing but they need to solve the ant problem because it put a huge dent on our vacation. Do your self a favor and before you pick a spot go knock on the pine trees around the camp site and see if ants start pouring out.

We stayed only one night rather than three, because overnight we became completely infested with ants! We had them in our car, in all the storage areas under the motor home and inside from the dash to bedside tables in the rear.
We talked to the host about them and he chuckled and said Joplin is known for its ants. I’ve heard they are not as bad this year! The roads inside the park were also horrible.

A quite peaceful place to camp and spend time with family. It’s our favorite place we return to the same campsite every year for the last 7 years. Hickory Nut mountain is a beautiful look at points for the lake. Also love playing in the creeks along the gravel road from Crystals Springs. Mountain Harbor has some pretty great staff and store. It our home away from home.
