What Guests Are Saying
Camp Joplin offers a relaxing and beautiful camping experience with spacious sites, convenient amenities like clean showers, and stunning views of the lake, making it a popular choice for visitors. Many campers appreciated the helpful hosts and well-maintained facilities, enhancing their stay. However, some guests reported issues with ants and noise from the sewer area, which could detract from the experience for a few. Overall, most would recommend returning to this lovely location.

Camping is in loops ooff the main road. There is no signage indicating location of camping sites. Beautiful views if you can get to your site. Many sites are not level or suitable for larger RV's. All sites seemed to have water and electric B28 was a good site for a 35' 5th wheel. You do have to go past it make a uturn and come back. I would not try going in after dark unless you know the area. As the warning sign sign says on the way in be careful as there are many hills with blind turns. Gate booth was unmanned and the phone number was unanswered. Never used the facilities so can't rate them. Cell service was marginal with Tmobile. Several crystal mines nearby. Don't expect big crystals as the operators get then first but digging is fun.

The most beautiful place I’ve stayed so far in Arkansas. The lake surrounds you & spaces are super spread out giving one the full camping experience.

A pretty decent sized group had a great time all weekend. 8 adults, 5 kiddos and 2 dogs stayed at Joplin Campgrounds in sites 15, 16,17 and 18 A (Walk-in). I would highly suggest having a wagon of some sort to help with hauling gear from the parking lot to the actual campsite. Sites 15, 16 and 17 are a little bit of a hike...especially when you're lugging the heavier items like tents, kayaks, etc. Showers and bathrooms were good. Decently clean restrooms, showers were hot and had great water pressure. Great views and close to the water. We caught fish, kayaked, hiked and got to visit the awesome Northwoods Trails for some mountain biking. Nothing but good times. We will definitely keep Joplin Campgrounds in mind for future trips. We'd be happy to return!
