Due to the extreme slope of our camp sites, our trip was not as pleasant as we had hoped. We tried to switch sites for a more level spot but was told it was booked. Those folks never showed up. The view was beautiful and we did have a good time. The unlevel ground was the only bad part of the weekend.

We always love coming to this campsite. There have been a lot of great improvements made in the last year. We especially love the levelled gravel sites and tree shaded lots. There was no water to one of the bathroom sinks but there was water to showers and the washsink on the outside which was odd. This will not stop us from returning to this lovely site and beautiful lake Ouachita.

We had a great time and enjoy our time spend there. The only issue and maybe corrected once the season starts, but campsite were not clean or prepare for the next camper. The fire pits were full of thrash and wood was left all around. The bathroom and trash cans were clean on a regular basis but nothing else. Some campers clean up when they left but not many. Thank you and will return sometime in the future if in the area.

Stayed at the Ranger Ridge area, which has a great view of the lake. We were at the site closest to the parking lot, so we didn’t have to hike with our equipment too far, unlike some of the other sites at Ranger Ridge.
We had a good thunderstorm with a lot of wind, so be prepared for that possibility. Wasn’t sure if our tent was going to fully collapse, but it held up.
Not the best showers, because the only place to sit down is outside the shower stalls (men’s at least), but there are showers.
Some of the other sites we checked out were very sloped to the point where I’m not sure how you could put a tent anywhere.
Camp host was very friendly and helpful (Casey).
