Camp Joplin offers a relaxing and beautiful camping experience with spacious sites, convenient amenities like clean showers, and stunning views of the lake, making it a popular choice for visitors. Many campers appreciated the helpful hosts and well-maintained facilities, enhancing their stay. However, some guests reported issues with ants and noise from the sewer area, which could detract from the experience for a few. Overall, most would recommend returning to this lovely location.

This is a beautiful location. My only concerns were that it was unmonitored and required an honor check in over Memorial Day weekend (very busy). There were a couple of times when it didn’t feel as safe as I’d like because of this. The bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner and they didn’t provide soap for hand washing, nor paper towels for drying.? One shower house had poor lighting and it was difficult to see. The campsites were very well done, the tent pads were very nice and maintained appropriately. I think if the entrance were monitored and the couple of bathroom issues were remedied, I would absolutely bring my family back to camp again.

The view was absolutely beautiful and we were high enough off the water that the bugs were at bay. The crows/birds however like to rise at 5am and caw a lot. We also had some late night furry visitors try and steal our marshmallows and hamburger buns! So make sure to lock down your tubs and food! The bathrooms were nice, and the rental docs are just around the next bend. We jet skied and we’re able to come right up to our site. Loop C43 was probably the best site out of that entire loop. There is drinkable water available just up the hill and it’s nice to park your vehicle right above the campsite as a “wall” of privacy from the road. Overall we loved this site and it also accommodated our need for an extra rain barrier. There are plenty of trees to set up an overhanging tarp for extra protection.
We HIGHLY recommend Lake Ouachita-Joplin campground!!
