What Guests Are Saying
Sunlight Bay offers a great location for camping and fishing, with friendly campground hosts and well-equipped sites. However, many reviews highlight issues with cleanliness in the bathrooms and showers, as well as maintenance problems like tall grass and debris. While some guests enjoyed their stay, the overall lack of facility upkeep led to dissatisfaction for several visitors.

Good place to camp and fish although seems like they could never get the shower in the men’s bathroom working right because of the hot water. It was way too hot to try to take a shower.

Was lacking some the typical care of the facilities that are seen in most Corp campgrounds.

Campsite was great. Only one shower worked in each of the womens and mens showerhouses, and the handdryer in the womens restroom didn't work.

Shade trees had been cut down probably damaged by storms, which is not my complaint, however all the debris from the removal was still present and we had to cleanup the site prior to use. I know good and well a contractor was paid for removal and did a shoddy cleanup and were paid for removal that we completed.

The location was great, we have camped there before several times. But the grass was very tall around the camp site. The showers and bathrooms was pretty dirty. Cob webs inside the showers area. Looked as if it had not been cleaned in awhile. No one at out camp or neighboring camps used these facilities because they were too dirty.

The bathrooms were disgusting. They kept sending the young boy to bring toilet paper and clean the bathrooms. We actually had all the campsites in the cove. We ended up, leaving a day early and they would not refund the money, but the experience was bad.

The bathrooms were not clean toilet paper laying everywhere the bathroom stuck you could not fish because the water was too low. We always had to ask for toilet paper. There was poop in the shower poop on toilet and then poopy toilet paper laying around very bad. Always with sand the kid out there to bring toilet paper to the bathroom for the attendance overall, it was not to our satisfaction like it has been in the past

The campground was good and the bathrooms were clean. The only problem I had was the fish cleaning station, it was horrible. It did not look like the table tops or the stainless steel sink had been cleaned since the previous campground attendant had been there. There were spiders everywhere, the counters were filthy and the sink had mold growing in it. Very disappointed.

I try to fish Nimrod every spring but the Corp of Engineers always screw the experience every year! This time by lowering the water to fix buoys. Spring time is the best time to fish. Looks like buoys could be repaired in the off season!
