What Guests Are Saying

Sunlight Bay offers a great location for camping and fishing, with friendly campground hosts and well-equipped sites. However, many reviews highlight issues with cleanliness in the bathrooms and showers, as well as maintenance problems like tall grass and debris. While some guests enjoyed their stay, the overall lack of facility upkeep led to dissatisfaction for several visitors.

We have been coming to Sunlight Bay for several years now (6 RVs). This year we were not impressed, the bathrooms and showers were so nasty the women wouldn't even use them, plus the grass needed mowed! There were several maintenence issues including a rusted cover on an in ground refuse tank which fell through when one of our children stepped on it. This was VERY close to disastrous. We sincerely hope the Rangers get a grip on things here.

Hot showers. Friendly campground host. Sites all equipped with tables and electrical outlets. Cool lights and music coming from the cemetery at night, but don't join their party.

The location is great, however the campsite or the bathhouse had been cleaned. Aluminum cans and trash in the fire ring. The bathhouse was dirty and only hosed down once in the 12 days that we were there. Hair in the drains, dead bugs in the sinks and dirt on the floors. We were there for the eclipse and the camp host made little attempt to clean. We even had to ask for toilet paper and to have the lights turned on. We will not go back.

It’s a nice campground. Not a good part of the lake to swim. We had fire ants but the camp host was helpful in helping with the problem. Nice fishing spot with boat ramp.

We loved the area. It was perfect for my husband to kayak. However; we would not choose site #16 again. We choose the site because it had a covered picnic table (which was reallly nice and we enjoyed using it). But the site itself was too crowded. You couldn't have a fire because the firepit was too close to your camper. We will visit again but at a different site.

Really nice camping. Fishing was excellent. Park keeper is about the nicest guy you want to meet, always there to help if you need him. Sites are good and all are 50amp. Nice place to go and rest or fish a couple weeks
