Nice camp sites. Since there isn't water at the sites, campers need to plan on filling prior to setting up camp if they don't have ample water hose.

I would give this park five stars IF: there were more water spigots, and acceptable showers. This is a very populated area and the COEs should have better facilities. Showers are not truly ADA compliant. No place to set your clothes whike shiwering, no shiwer bench, no dressing bench, not even a wall hook. Vultures and geese pooping all over the beaches. ACOE, you can and should do better than this for Beaver lake campers.

Horseshoe Bend is a shadow of its former self. The grounds are poorly maintained. The vault toilets are seemingly never emptied. The shower houses are disgusting. There are too many people using them that appear to be using a toilet for the first time. The crew that "cleans" them might as well not stop as they drive by--they impart zero effort. There are regularly groups of 20 or more shoe-horned into a single site. No one enforces the 8 people per site rule. People using the potable water at the dump station to flush their black tanks.
The boat ramp has its own problems. Kids/adults fishing off the dock, on the ramp. People using the dock as their personal slip. ignoring the no wake zones. I miss the good old days.

The restrooms needed to be cleaned out better.

This campsite was very hard to find. The sites are not marked well. This is on a dead end road, We had to make a wide circle to get the 5th wheel in there. The fire ring is right at the end out the camper once you back it in, so in the fall I would not suggest using it. If you had a long electrical and water hose, you could pull your rig in and would have the perfect set up. The view from the driver side of the camper was nice, you could see the water. The table and fire ring made this spot a little tricky. There was plenty of space on the passenger side but the set up was on the driver side so we walked around the camper all weekend. It did have its own water hook up which was nice. The park was full but we felt we had plenty of space in this spot. It could use more shower houses.

Beautiful campground and campsite! If you're planning on extending an awning: note the position of the lantern hook and park accordingly.
