What Guests Are Saying
War Eagle Campground offers a beautiful and clean environment with well-maintained restrooms and showers, making it a pleasant place to camp. Visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and spacious sites that provide privacy. However, some challenges include limited water access at sites, narrow roads, and a few overgrown areas, making it less suitable for larger campers.

The park is pretty overgrown and seems to have a lot of permanent residents (not problems with anyone, it just seems like several people live there all the time). The road is a single lane wide, but is a two-way street. The trees have grown over the road, and even though we only have an 18foot camper that is 10 feet tall at the highest, we rubbed the branches a couple of times. Our space was adequate for a small camper, (with chocks!) since the neighbor only had a tent. There would be no way to park if they had any sized camper in the shared parking space. our space was on a fairly steep hill where even with the front all the way lowest, we were still angled to the back drastically. I didn't feel comfortable using levelers under the wheels since I couldn't chock them if I did.
Most of the spots are only good for tents and have no place to park a truck. Ours was fine for what we needed. Be sure to take your own water since there are NO water hookups for the campers. There are only two places that you can fill with "clean" water that are each about 100 feet from the road, so either fill your tanks before you get there, or take a long hose.
Like I said, we made it work for us, but it was far from ideal. The nice lady at the gate house was extremely helpful in pointing out where the water was available and was a pleasant person.

When we arrived we had to wait for the previous camper to move and we had kids with us that had to sit in the vehicle and wait for almost 1.5 hours after check in time, the restrooms were not cleaned or stocked the 4 days we were there.

We enjoyed our stay at this campground, the large bathroom is nice and pretty clean for a camp bathroom. Smaller bathrooms are the scary type haha. I liked the covered tables and privacy that the spaced out sites provided. Water spout is not at each site but pretty close by. We understand why the swim beach was closed but wish this was disclosed when booking. It's very hard for any kids to not be able to swim in the hot summer while camping and even harder to explain to our autistic 7yo.

Some strange activities around host camping sites. Not sure how to describe it but seemed a bit out of the ordinary.
