What Guests Are Saying
War Eagle Campground offers a beautiful and clean environment with well-maintained restrooms and showers, making it a pleasant place to camp. Visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and spacious sites that provide privacy. However, some challenges include limited water access at sites, narrow roads, and a few overgrown areas, making it less suitable for larger campers.

We just got back from a sister’s reunion (there are 4 of us). We stayed at War Eagle Campground and couldn’t have picked a better place. The cliffs are kind of scary from a couple of the campsites (pictures on website were misleading), but we had a wonderful time! We will definitely return.

I lived in northwest Arkansas my whole life never seen so many ticks ever till I stayed at this campground. Doesn't help that they hadn't mowed. You would think they mow before the weekend.

The campground was nice and quite with very pretty scenery. BUT the swimming area was basically non-existent. Maybe the water level was higher than normal but to the side of the swim area and marina was what appeared to be a marine junkyard. Old dilapidated boats, parts of boats and rusted hills stacked at the end of what appeared to be a parking lot/boat ramp. Not sure what was going on there but the water all around had a sheen to it-like oil was seeping in. Would NOT have swam or allowed any loved ones to swim there.
Also, the site we reserved, no. 14, was supposed to be acceptable for trailer or tent. Our son came with grandson for one night and we’re going to pitch a tent by our trailer…. No tent pad… luckily the site next to us was open do we rented it for them.
Our site was extremely small which was ok with us with one exception… the fire ring was probably less than 10 feet from our camper. Not exactly safe.
Lastly, good luck backing into any of the sites. You will need to bring some extra patience. The sites all have this odd little hook just as you go to back in. No reason for it but it’s there and just enough to mess with backing in.

Nice little CoE park on a bluff overlooking Beaver Lake. Lots of sites would work for our 22’ van. We liked being at the top of the campground in site 25. Site 24 might have a better view of the lake. Some sites might be hard for bigger rigs. There are vault toilets on the outskirts of the campground, with very nice clean bath house near the entry. Camp host was very friendly and helpful and is on-site for possible issues.
Caution - Don’t confuse it with private Camp War Eagle across the lake, but 45 minutes away!
