The whole firepit & table were over grown with weeds. There was so many stickers that kept getting stuck in our dogs paws and hair that we left after being there for less than 24 hours. We saw that the other campsites were well maintained but ours was not. We will not be coming back.

No tags were provided on my space 90 on oct 29, someone else was in my space on oct 30 (so we parked in 91) and had tags for oct 30,31, even tho I had reservation for oct 29, 30, 31. We didn’t come back on oct 31.

Great place to camp with the family while checking out the surrounding area (we had Sonora and Big Trees in the itinerary, but only managed to hit up Sonora during our short stay.) We camped in November for a weekend and brought our pitbull along :) Iron Horse campground was closed when we were there, so we stayed at Big Oak instead and still managed to get a good view of the lake. Seems like the place to be for BBQs and water sports. Found a lot of cigarette butts and beer caps in our particular site; though I cleaned up that mess and though I guess that's to be expected, I'd hope that people would remember to clean up after themselves!

Unit 12 was not as advertised. 3” tree branch prevented trailer from fitting into space. Had to forfeit reservation and find another spot. Told ranger about it. Outrageous!!

An absolutely perfect stay in October! There was only 1 other RV in the whole area that we had booked. So quiet, and just so lovely! We taught our son to fish down by the shore and the dogs adored exploring and hiking up and down the hillside towards the water. It was such a lovely first night in our rental RV. I'm so glad we chose to stay there and I wish we'd stayed longer than 1 night! Hoping to be back!

Bathrooms were closed due to PGE PSPS.
Site is very steep and one kid fell over backwards in his camp chair and hit his head really hard.

Campground was clean, and bathrooms were exceptional. I had a drive through site, which I didn't realize, and it made moving my boat to and from the water super easy. Highly recommend this campground!

From Sacramento take 99 S, 88 W and 12 E to San Andreas. Take 49 S for approximately 15 miles. Turn right onto Whittle Ranch Road and follow the road 2 miles to the recreation area.
From Central California and the Bay Area take 80 E, 580 E then 205 E to 120 E in Manteca. Take the exit for 120 E/99 N. Continue on 120 E, then take 108 E to 49N. Turn left onto Whittle Ranch Road and follow the road 2 miles to the recreation area.
Glory Hole Recreation Area is accessible via State Route 49, which is approximately 10 miles away, providing connection to U.S. Route 50 and other regional roads.

General
- PLEASE HEAD STRAIGHT TO YOUR CAMPSITE UPON ARRIVALThere will be a reservation tag and 1 or 2 vehicle tags clipped to your campsite's post. Please leave the reservation tag on the post and place the vehicle tag(s) inside your vehicle(s) with dates visible. Contact a Park Ranger if you have any questions.
- At New Melones Lake there is a 14-day camping limit within a 30-day period.
- The recreation area entrance gate closes at 9:00pm. Vehicle entry after the gate is closed is prohibited. Exit at any time.
- During quiet hours, loud noise is prohibited. Excessive noise (audible beyond 50ft) at any time is prohibited.
- Camping fees include boat launch and day-use fees. Two vehicles are permitted in standard campsites. One vehicle is permitted in walk-to sites. All vehicles must display a campground vehicle tag or an overflow vehicle parking receipt.Vehicles must remain on paved roads and parking spots. Off-roading is prohibited.
- Campfires are only allowed in fire rings or grills in designated areas. Campfires must be attended at all times and extinguished completely before leaving.Campers may collect only dead and down wood for campfires. Chainsaw use is not allowed on property.During National Weather Service "Red Flag Warning" days and facility fire bans, wood and charcoal fires will not be permitted.
- All pets must be on a maximum six-foot (1.8 m) leash at all times. Leaving your pets unattended is not permitted.
- The dump station is out of order at this time.
- While recreating at New Melones Reservoir: CLEAN, DRAIN, and DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that comes in contact with water. Never dump unwanted bait, worms, fish parts or other organisms into the water. For more information visit https://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/ STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. REMOVE plants, seeds, animals and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. CLEAN your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site.
