What Guests Are Saying
Wishon Bass Lake campground offers a great location near the lake and amenities, making it a favorite for many families who return annually. Campers appreciate the clean restrooms and beautiful views, with some sites being spacious enough for larger groups. However, issues such as rude camp hosts, noise disturbances, unlevel campsites, and lack of bear boxes have been noted, impacting the overall experience for some visitors.

Loved the beautiful view from this campground. The biggest bonus was the great Verizon service that allowed us to work from camp. Also liked having the cute store and restaurant in walking distance from camp, there is a path near site #16. We had our mini goldendoodle with us and this place was full of treacherous sticky weeds. We had to carry her everywhere and I would not bring her back to this area for that reason. The mosquitos were hungry so be prepared. Camp host was nice.

We stayed in spots #37 and #38 for a group of five adults, two kids, and one dog. We were slightly disappointed that the spots looked much closer on the map, but were actually quite secluded from each other. Any other time it would have been great, just wasn’t what we were expecting. (Sites #38 and #39 would have made for a better group camp). They are on the outskirts of the campground though so we did appreciate not being right in the mix of everyone. Overall the campground was very well maintained. The road getting in is a little bumpy but just go slow and you’ll be fine. There are a lot of people with dogs and all sites are pretty much right off the road so just be prepared if you have your dogs with you that they’ll need to be leashed as people are walking by with them all the time. There was a host that did come check us in right at arrival, she was very friendly but not overbearing to where we felt like we were going to be babysat all weekend. We saw them come around now and again but were never bothersome. I will point out that #37, #38, #39, and #40 are all in very close proximity to the bathroom which was very nice. It is an actual flushing toilet with real toilet paper and was decently maintained for being a campground bathroom. There is also a dumpster near by so you can dump your trash each night instead of needing to store it. There are not any flat beach areas close to the campground, but a short drive along the lake and you’ll be able to spot something. Overall we had a great weekend and look forward to coming back.

Great location, unlevel site
The view of the lake is nice and it’s a short walk to Miller’s Landing. The narrow road wasn’t too bad, but be aware that most campsites at Wishon are ridiculously unlevel because the campground sits on a hill.

Still enjoyed camping here but it's not the same as when I was a kid growing up with all of the pine trees cut down and I wasn't too happy when the ranger came around and said that we cannot burn any of the little sticks or wood found out in the forest. You now have to buy wood, are you kidding me.

Great view of the lake from Site 5. Would recommend going family camping there.

Very tight campground; do not bring large RVs! I have a 20 ft trailer that barely fit the roads. Nice view from spot 26 at the top of the hill. Noisy party area around the campground is the only negative.

The location itself was beautiful and the camp host was very informative and friendly. Plenty of flat spaces to pitch tents with a great view of the lake.
You do get a certain amount of noise from the local resorts and people kept walking through our camp en route to the well-stocked bathroom.

Victoria was very friendly and made us feel right at home. We have camped at Bass Lake for over 30 years and Victoria is one of the best hosts yet. Than you.

Loved the area. Lake was clean and plenty of fish to catch. Paid boating is just at walking distance.
