What Guests Are Saying

Rock Creek Lake offers a stunning campground with beautiful views, plenty of hiking trails, and excellent opportunities for fishing and paddleboarding. The campground host near the inlet of the lake was an absolute ride as the come. This guy is so far from host it’s amazing he is allowed to still work there. Bathroom soap always empty, trash in bathrooms over flowing at times. The host seemed more interested in driving his golf cart around then anything. Never once asked any campers how they were. We talked to several others camping near us all said same thing. We were in site 15 and will probably never stay here again. East fork is more friendly.

I mistakenly booked an RV-only site although I just had a tent. I spoke with the campground manager and he suggested I look in one of the walk-in only campgrounds. I found a spot in Upper Pines and the manager agreed to let me swap the fee. The stay at Upper Pines was great. Sites are decent size and the trees keep the noise down. The only downside of the trip were the campground managers, which I understand are employed by a concessionaire, we're pretty unfriendly. I understand they I was asking for a favor, however I was polite and prepared for bads news. I only heard the campground manager at Upper Pines complain, nothing else. Which was unnerving.

The campground is well located by the lake with a pleasant hike up the creek nearby. Sites by the lake shore or along the creek are best, of course. Bathrooms were clean and easily available.

Enjoyed my stay here, wish I had spent more nights at this campsite. Not only was it near Mammoth and the hot springs, but the lake was great to go paddle boarding in. Restrooms were also clean. Highly recommend!
