De ligging van de camping tussen de bergen is erg mooi. Daarnaast konden we ook een mooie wandeling langs het meer maken.

Our campsite had beautiful views of the mountain and lake, and we saw deer every evening. The bathrooms were clean as well. The only negative aspect of this particular campsite was that there was no shade at all.

I camped at Convict Lake Campground (site 49) from July 28-31, 2024. It was a last minute reservation and because of the site photo on Recreation.gov, I had my doubts. First of all let me say the site photo doesn’t do it justice at all. It’s a cute little spot towards the end of a main road. The tent pad is placed in a way that makes it semi private from the road. There is a stunning little creek, which was running strong, just 30’ away from the site across a small meadow. It became my favorite morning coffee spot and the sound of the water at night added to the relaxation. There are deer roaming the campsites which I think it adds to the charm of the area. Camp hosts are fantastic! Campgrounds are clean and bathrooms are well stocked, spotless and roofless. One just happens to be right across from this site. Win! Neighbors were friendly and respectful. The entire campground was completely silent by 8 o’clock every night. It’s also just a short walk to beautiful Convict Lake. Genuinely can’t say enough good things. Loved everything about it and will be back!

Amazing views. Flush toilets. Kayak rental. Big ber box. Deers. No mosquitoes in July. Easy check in and out. Tent pad is small so bring your small tents.

Family had a great week fishing at the lake and sleeping overnight in the campground. Restroom facilities were kept clean in campground. Only negative would not be the campground but the lakeside area which is becoming more and more a party lake and not a fisherman's retreat with groups of people splashing and playing in the lake (disturbing fishing) as well as some houseboats not following no-wake rules and going full speed across lake causing large water wakes by shore. Also, parking rules are not enforced at all by forest service so folks just park how ever they want and are never cited for egregious parking violations.

Great place to camp. It does get windy so make sure you strap everything down good.
