We had a large and easily accessible campsite. Walking distance to Convict Lake (which was a lovely short walk around) and to the restaurant (which is wonderful)!

This was our second trip to convict Lake. We had a fun time, kayaking and fishing ( catch and release ). The clarity of the water is amazing. The only downside was needing to book 2 separate campsites for our two nights. When we arrived, the majority of the campground was empty, although showed fully reserved online. Looking forward to our next visit.

The Camp hosts here take their job very seriously and I would rate them as some of the very best I have encountered, pleasant and make sure you are happy with your stay.
Thanks!

This is a clear, orderly campground situated in chaparral with easy access to the Lakeshore and beautiful mountain views. The head high chaparral gives most sites some privacy. Bring your own shade. It is nice to dayhike around the lake. We watched a bald eagle fishing in the lake, and deer came into our campsite to browse. The marina rents several classes of watercraft, or bring your own. Some people fish in the lake or outlet stream which runs by the campground. The resort has a small store and a restaurant. The campground is large and you can nearly always get a first come first served site on a weeknight.

Campgrounds and campsites very nice (although none with shade), restrooms VERY clean, camp hosts friendly and helpful. The biggest negatives were the boat launch ramp and boat launching - no provisions for private boaters, in this case kayaks. No place to tie up after launching, no space in the water left for private boaters of any kind, everything taken up by pontoon boat rentals. Trailer parking was a considerable distance away, so no close parking for trailers. Will not use the launch facilities again, hence will not be returning for camping at Convict Lake.

Clean. quiet and spacious campground. Very nice scenic trail around the lake. Many thanks to the camphosts for keeping this campground well maintained, peaceful and clean. Our original site #35 was moderatly sloped upward. We could not level our traler. Thanks to Dennis (camphost), we were able to chnage to site #40 which slopes mildly dowanward. No problem leveling. Be aware that many of these sites along the mountain side have mild to moderate upward slope; many of the sites near the creek and vegetation have a mild to moderate downward slope. We drove around the campground and wrote down better campsite numbers for our future stay.
