The cabin was in great condition. Everything was clean and taken care of. Lots of wildflowers nearby and the river was roaring!

Google maps got me all the way including the 1 mile dirt. Long haul but scenic. But it is quite isolated in April, except for the firshermen/women. River was way up with deep quiet pockets of still water with trout jumping.
The cabin is quite nice, in spite of the generator for electric. Without it, you need a match to light the stove, for example, but overall one of the best yet!

Very nice accommodations. Cabin all well maintained and cleaned perfectly. USFS maintenance personnel went above and beyond and getting problems issues resolved before we checked in. Very much appreciated.
Beautiful spring scenery along the river and gorgeous drive up to Black Rock Campground area. Nice hiking up Davis Road as well. Highly recommend this cabin and surrounding area.

I love the place. I wish I lived there all the time. All the comforts of home without the trappings.

While not lush & green like my home country of New Zealand, this is a beautiful location right beside Kings River. This cabin is amazing - complete with electric generator, flush toilet, shower, piped water, gas refrigerator, stove & wall heater. Bed is comfortable, as is the lounge & the kitchen is fully equipped. The only thing I missed in the extensive briefings in the cabin was that this section of the Kings River is wild trout only & barbless hooks are advised. The limit is 2 trout, if I remember correctly. The location is very quiet & the fire ring & outdoor furniture was a nice addition. I stayed for 4 nights in November 2019 & could easily have stayed longer. There is much or nothing to do - your choice!

Camp 4 1/2 is our family happy place, we try to schedule a few days here every summer if we can. The cabin has everything you need, including lots of board games with most of the pieces intact, and the river is just a tiny walk away. There's not much to do besides swim and relax, which is perfect since that's exactly what we come for. Amazing stargazing too! FYI, no tv, no wifi, no cell service.
