Good campsite overall. Washrooms were alright, not the cleanest. The campsites are spacious for medium sized groups.
The water level in the reservoir is pretty low, so don't expect to have walkable access to the water from any of these campgrounds.
Watch out for rattlesnakes and bobcats (I think I saw one, or maybe it was a regular cat). At night I could hear wolves howling in the distance.

Everything was good, the weather the fishing and my site. The water was low but the fishing was a nice surprise, we caught bass this time not rainbow trout.

Overall everything was great until we left. The dump station was locked. Everything upsetting.

Campsites are literally one on top of the other. Our neighbors were less than 10 ft away. Listen to him snore all night...No Shade, very dusty and hot.

The park was fine during the day but unfortunately there was someone on the campground that was loud and obnoxious, talking loudly until about 1am. From the conversation it seems she was intoxicated. The quiet hours were not enforced.

It was very crowded with some type of weekend event at all the #40s campsites.

From Fresno, California, travel east on Highway 180/Kings Canyon Highway to Academy Avenue. Turn left onto Academy Avenue, and then turn right on Belmont Avenue. Continue traveling for approximately 20 mi; the entrance to Island Park Recreation Area is on the right.
NOTE: Belmont Avenue becomes East Trimmer Springs Road approximately 6 mi east of the Academy Avenue intersection.

Policies & Rules
General
- Maximum 2 vehicles per individual campsite (4 vehicles for double campsites).
- Maximum 8 people per individual campsite (16 people for double campsites).
- Maximum 14 day camping limit.
- Entrance gates MAY be locked. Vehicles may exit at anytime, however re-entry into the campground when the gates are locked is prohibited.
- Rattlesnakes frequent the area starting early spring through late summer. Please use caution.
- Due to low water levels, lake access from the recreation areas and campground may not be available.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
