What Guests Are Saying
Eshom Campground is praised for its beautiful and serene location, with clean facilities, a helpful host, and enjoyable amenities like a nearby creek and meadow for stargazing. Many guests appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the opportunity for family bonding in a secluded environment. However, accessing the campground can be challenging, requiring a rugged vehicle due to rough roads, and it is relatively far from major attractions like Sequoia Park. Some visitors experienced issues with smoke from prescribed burns during their stay.

The campground itself is good and is in a nice area. However, while it is technically located within Sequoia, it takes about 2 hours to get into the main park because you have to take a long and winding road out of the campsite to get back into it where all the hiking is.

The campsite was great! The bathrooms were very clean which is a big plus in my book. The camp host was hard to get a hold of many times though. It's a long drive up there, but a beautiful setting.

This campground was lovely with a stream, no crowds, nice sequoias, well maintained with a nice host who appeared to be on top of maintenance. Summertime temperatures were perfect, cooling nicely at night. The trip up was a quite difficult, however, taking us nearly 2 hrs 15 min from Fresno with steep up and downgrades, many, many switchbacks and narrow roads in a camper van.

Trash was never collected during our 4 night stay; trash cans were overflowing. Not notified by recreation.gov prior to visit that campfires were not permitted even though Sequoia Forest Service issued the order on May 7th per posted letter.

Even though this campground is hard to find (DON'T follow googlemaps from the gate of King's Canyon park), it is a gem! Only 24 spaces with about 10 of them considered double. We were in #11 - by far, the best spot in the campground! There's a creek that wraps around two sides of the campsite. The downside - because it is such a great spot to see the creek, people love to randomly walk through it - and possibly a bull or cow!!!
Since the access roads are rather primitive, I wouldn't recommend an RV or trailer. We did it with a 24 ft RV, but it was a nailbiter!
