What Guests Are Saying
Eshom Campground is praised for its beautiful and serene location, with clean facilities, a helpful host, and enjoyable amenities like a nearby creek and meadow for stargazing. Many guests appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the opportunity for family bonding in a secluded environment. However, accessing the campground can be challenging, requiring a rugged vehicle due to rough roads, and it is relatively far from major attractions like Sequoia Park. Some visitors experienced issues with smoke from prescribed burns during their stay.

Campground is well maintained and really beautiful. There is a really pretty meadow and big trees all around. Water pump/bathrooms clean and close. We would stay here again but we usually prefer more secluded sites. I docked a star because of the trash situation. They were regular bins, and were a mess this includes campers putting large boxes in them so there was no room for trash, then people leaving their trash outside is the bin. Obviously animals got to it, making more of a mess. Anyway we had some great neighbors and a beautiful little spot by the meadow.

Our campsite was good but the camp host didn't seem to be around at all. By 9am on Sunday morning all the toilet paper was gone. We walked around and never could find him or her. There was no sign of anyone at the host site.

This is my favorite campground to visit. I first came with friends and have come back with my family since then. No there are no showers, no slabs or cellphone service but that makes it all the better. The restrooms are always clean, they can smell when it gets hot but that's to be expected. Be prepared to take the long way down and up if going out to the parks on the "paved" road or you can take the fire road if your vehicle is up to it. I have the maps for this area downloaded on to my phone and recommend everyone do the same, unless you have Verizon you will not have service and even that is spotty. There are no bear boxes but I have not had any issues just make sure you're cleaning up correctly and packing your stuff into your car. If you enjoy solitude and a bit of primitive camping this is your spot. It is a hidden gem with beautiful trees all around, silence and nature. And cows! Don't forget the cows!

The bathrooms have to be cleaned they stink terrible. The campsite should have one square of concrete 12x12 " or bigger to put our table food etc , we need water to take showers because eshom doesn't have a good river. It ok for camping only but you have to stay on site because to go see the main park it is too far so think twice get as much information as needed because there is no phone service regardless of your provider.

Pleasantly surprised for sure! This was a last-minute booking and pretty much just took what was available. We had never been here before so we were a little concerned. It is quite a long drive up from the highway (about 1 1/2 hours towing our travel trailer) on a narrow road. Our space (#10) was huge with plenty of space to back in our trailer. The only con with experienced was the bugs! We used "Off" but that didn't work. Flies, bees, and mosquitos! Bring Citronella candles (I forgot mine) and plenty of strong bug spray. Other that that, our site was absolutely beautiful and perfect.
We never saw a camp host but somehow the trash and bathrooms were tended to. If you come out of the campground and turn right, it will put you on a fire road that leads your straight to the highway to King's Canyon. (about 45 minutes) The road is bumpy and unpaved so would not recommend low profile vehicles. This campground is tucked away deep in the forest with not much to do around. We saw dirt bikers, mountain bikers, and shooters. We loved our weekend here and would love to go back!
