What Guests Are Saying
Eshom Campground is praised for its beautiful and serene location, with clean facilities, a helpful host, and enjoyable amenities like a nearby creek and meadow for stargazing. Many guests appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the opportunity for family bonding in a secluded environment. However, accessing the campground can be challenging, requiring a rugged vehicle due to rough roads, and it is relatively far from major attractions like Sequoia Park. Some visitors experienced issues with smoke from prescribed burns during their stay.

If you enjoy winding switchbacks and huge trees with views for miles this is the place to visit. I rode my BMW R1200 GS from Tennessee for this specific campground and was not disappointed. Its isolated, but feels safe. The campsites are large with the most beautiful trees you will see.
The road leading to the site is a tough ride. I'm still not sure how a few of the people there got those campers up that road. But if you make it, it's worth it.

Esom campground was beautiful and peaceful. Note that it’s just 5.5 miles from Grants Hwy, but it will take you 30-35 minutes because of the rough dirt road. I think it’s totally worth it though!
Vicky, the camp host, was so sweet. 😊

Nicely tucked, easy if you are coming from the Fresno side but if you are coming from the Sequoia side make sure you know the route. It was a long drive to the site. Follow the instruction on the reservation not google. Clean toilets, nice host!

The cleanest pit toilets that I've ever seen! This was an awesome campsite and was nearly deserted. We heard a tree fall and lots of rocks falling down valley after a light rainfall, it was an awesome sound! The forest road out was our favorite part. The road was a bit rough in spots, but if you have a 4x4 vehicle (without pulling a trailer), I would suggest it. It brings you up into Kings Canyon Park on the Redwood Forest road so you will have to back track a bit to the gate. This was our favorite campsite out of a 2 week trip!
