Dogwood

Great site. Close to water and restrooms. Very large site and mostly private. Neighbors at site 75 are very close but the way the hill is you cant really see each other unless youre at the picnic table. Site is slanted and tree heavy (good hammock spots) but level enough room for a large tent or maybe two near the bushes. Hosts and rangers were great. Wood available for $8. Short walk to the trails and shower. Mid June and absolutely no crawling or flying bugs, lots of birds and squirrels. Close enough to town. Great cell coverage.

It IS a family campground so not a ton of quite time. Lot of children up late at night, music, etc. One of our favorite spots will definetly be back.

We spent 3 nights at Dogwood, site 089. It was my son’s first time tent camping and we couldn’t have a better experience! Bathrooms were very clean and the showers were clean and water was warm. Water pumps were very close. The only issue we had was the bathroom closest to us was clean during the day, but at night, spiders took over, luckily we were near another restroom that didn’t have an issue. Our site was flat and big, and can easily support 2 tents. There was also an electrical outlet at this site, so I was able to bring an electric kettle for our coffee press in the morning. Fire pit has a grate to cook on, as we did, that flips out of the way when you’re done. One side of the site had great privacy, but the other side was pretty open to your neighbor, but their fire pit was located on the other side of their site, so we still felt very isolated.
Lake Gregory is about 15 mins away and has a water recreation area for the kids for a small fee. There is also fishing for a fee.
Lake Arrowhead has restaurants and a super market which was convenient. Overall, staff was very friendly and always greeted you with a smile when you passed in and out during the day. The site was nicely shaded, flat and cleared. We had a lovely time! I recommend it for a long weekend getaway.

Nice place to visit. Sites are spacious and clean. Only negative is that many sites are not level, especially front to back. Bring extra leveling cribbing if you have an RV.

campground staff is always great

The campground was amazingly clean, organized and in a shaded area. Lots of trees, squirrels and privacy. It felt like camping in a dense forest.

My boyfriend and I had such a great time!! The restrooms and showers were clean! The staff were so sweet! Definitely coming back every month !!!

We’ve been here 5yrs in a row and enjoy it every time. The weather was perfect this year.

Thanks for enforcing the noise limits and having no amplifiers, best experiences we've had at Dogwood in the last several years! Hosts are awesome as well!

After years of wanting to return, we finally were able to book a site. We really enjoyed how clean the sites are and how peaceful it is.

It was our family first time camping at Dogwood and we have great time. It was quiet and the hike was very nice.
