What a beautiful place! If you are looking for remote tent camping spot then this is what you need. Cherry Valley is a great camp ground. Clean spacious spots. The host made sure the bathrooms were clean and the garbage was collected. The cons... The road in and distance to supplies. Honestly the supplies thing is on me, I should have pre planned getting ice in Sonora or Groveland. Just make sure you have everything before you get there. The pros... Everything else. Be prepared for quick changes in weather. We were there for four days in June. The first three days were nice, mid to high 60s. Then on the last day clouds rolled in and we got a light sprinkle. Other than that it was a great trip. We can't wait to go back.

This campground is only accessible by a 21 mile rocky unpaved two tire line dirt road with bushes growing in the middle. We were not able to drive down this road in our van and we had to look for alternate last minute lodging late at night- both unsafe and frustrating.

It felt almost impossible to get to Cherry Valley—about an hour and a half drive from the nearest town with no cell service on narrow winding roads with steep drop offs. While the scenery was beautiful, it was not worth the anxiety of navigating to get there.
