What Guests Are Saying
Cherry Valley campground is praised for its cleanliness, serene atmosphere, and beautiful Cherry Lake. Camp host JJ receives high marks for his helpfulness and dedication to maintaining the site. While it is remote and lacks cell service, the peaceful environment and well-kept facilities make it a favorite among campers.

A nice site run by a lovely couple named Robert and Lisa who gave us a sense of security and wonderful service in everything we needed. Their dedicated work brings the site to a really good level of maintenance especially during the complex period of the COVID-19 (cleanliness of the toilets, observance of all safety rules, availability at all times for all the needs of visitors and more). The location of the site near the lake gives its addition, when a 3 minute walk opens a private beach for site visitors on the lake couch, a waterfall that descends right to the lake produces a magical corner where we spent most of the time when not hiking, by the way recommend taking the trail to Lake KIBBIE) . Firewood can be purchased on site from Robert and Lisa.
We were at site number 002, right at the entrance to the site. This site has a flat area that allows you to place a tent of 8 people in a very convenient way, there is room to set up some tents, really convenient access to water and toilets. At the same time, due to the high density of trees, a site is constantly in the shade so on hot summer days this site is strategic :-). Recommend bringing a mat, because the soil in the place is a bit powdery and dirty, for those who care. In addition to being equipped with a mosquito repellent, since a site is near a water place, there are quite a few of them in the area. Anyone who wants to know if there is mobile reception, then there is no, except to comment above the site that somehow the service of VERIZON can be facilitated there but really really weak.
In conclusion, really enjoyed.

It was very noisy, lots of people staying up late, past midnight, with loud music and loud talking/ yelling/ laughing. I will not stay there again.

Due to COVID-19, many of the reserved sites were empty so the camp ground felt full, but not to full. We (a group of six ladies and one medium sized pup) were nestled between a large Latino group, and large Middle Eastern group -- an ideal way for us to spend the July 4th long weekend. Our particular site (#18) was private and nestled a little higher up than the other grounds. We were between two bathrooms, but neither close enough to bother us. The campground is overall secluded and an escape from urban spaces, however, you could hear loud cars in the distance. No cell reception.
The potable water taps were running low on water so that was the only difficulty in washing our camp dishes. Bathrooms were clean, and the camp host (Lisa) was super helpful. We purchased all the firewood we needed from her, but there is also a lot of tinder on the ground. Sites are equipped with bear lockers, picnic tables, and camp fire rings.
Cherry Valley Lake can be accessed near Campsite #10 - a short 1/3 mile walk down to a rocky beach, waterfall, and rope swing. The water was refreshing, but there is very little space on the beach for multiple parties. There is another way to access the lake near the amphitheater but this trail was hard to find and difficult to walk down. Same issue of a rocky beach with little seating area there too. Overall - a great place to get away and would definitely return.

This was a great camp spot. Pretty large camp overall but it's in a great location. Restrooms and water stations close by. Bear lockers at each campsite and very close to the lake which is fun. Be sure to bring your mask when heading to the lake. The trail gets narrow and be prepared to just over a few fallen trees.
