Lost Claim offers a great camping experience with spacious and clean sites that feel secluded, enhanced by beautiful views and ample tree cover. The campground is well-maintained, with friendly management and convenient access to nearby attractions like Yosemite and local grocery stores. While there are minor drawbacks, such as limited restroom supplies and some noise from wildlife, the overall ambiance and natural beauty make it a desirable destination.

The campground was small, but the sites themselves had a good amount of space. The campsite does not have a paved road. The dirt road was easily drivable. The bathrooms were well maintained and clean. The camp host was very friendly, courteous and polite. We stayed for five nights and enjoyed our stay. The camp host is at a nearby campground, but came by at least twice a day to check on the campers and the bathrooms. The other campers were quiet in the evenings and usually left early in the morning. We stayed at site 7 which has a lot of sun and is on a hill but afforded good view of the stars at night. Despite being right next to the bathroom we experienced very few smells wafting from the bathroom. We didn't have any problems with critters or wildlife during our stay. We recommend this campground.

Stayed for 1 night since we weren't going to make it to Hetch Hetchy before the road closes but overall a good place to stay. We were in site 2 which is big but hard to find a spot for 3 tents that wasn't slightly sloped. The bathrooms were clean. Even though the reservation only allows 1 car, our site could probably fit 3 cars but each additional car is $8 which you can self-pay or someone in the morning will come and ask for it. We couldn't figure out how to use the water pump until the next day and you just have to keep pumping until water comes out. Not a simple faucet. You will hear cows mooing and their bells at night every couple minutes. Not sure about during the day.

We loved the cows that roam around lol. We also loved how private and quiet campsites were. Bathrooms were clean. Overall a great experience!

If you can’t get a campsite inside the park, this is a great one. Not perfect, but I had an excellent time staying there for 3 nights!
