What Guests Are Saying
Fairview Campground offers a stunning location with spacious and clean campsites, many right next to the river, perfect for family activities like fishing and tubing. The camp amenities, including clean bathrooms and friendly hosts, enhance the overall experience. However, some visitors reported issues with wasps and minor inconveniences with campground management, but these did not significantly detract from the enjoyment for most guests.

The picnic table at 27C was a broken pile of pieces and unusable. The campground was a bit thrashed. The host seemed like a nice guy, but I've been camping there for years and was bummed out that the place was looking pretty rough.

The river was flowing at an all time high, May 2023. While we were not able to enjoy the water we did enjoy the endless natural noise machine. The camp bathrooms are just pit toilets but fairly clean. The camp host often forgets to refill the toilet paper so be prepared to supply your own.

Very clean and well maintained. Host was present and very helpful. Patrolled during a flash flood warning late one evening. Excellent

Had a great time, great place to camp. Found the best site in the camp ground. I would recommend that you bring your own toilet paper with you. 1 ply does not work well, it's rough.

Came here to fish off the kern river. It was flowing to fast to fly fish unfortunately due to
Snow melt. Bad timing. Otherwise a perfect place to fly fish

Popular campground. Small trailers ok. Be aware that pavement is lined with large rocks which limits ability to maneuver large trailers.

I started camping along the beautiful Kern River with my son when he was 16 and he is now 21, and the magic of those nights under the stars talking around the campfire is still the best a dad could ever ask for. Waking to the sound of the river and then fishing hard all day is what it's about! The beauty of the sky, boulders, water and time together, and yes even catching a few fish, is what we look forward to all year until it's time to return again. Fairview Campground and the wild Kern River are forever etched in my memory. What a special place to spend a few, very fast days with someone you love. It's such a long, long time to be gone and a short time to be there.

Great Site, wonderful access to the river and not too busy for Thanksgiving weekend. Our site says it's supposed to have electricity but it did not actually have a plug.

Peace and quiet. Friendly camp host and helpful also! Close to the river and practically next door to a general store and burger stand whose staff members are very helpful and friendly. Plenty of places to fish, camp, hike, or just hang around camp and drink beer! First time here and I love the view and time here.
