What Guests Are Saying
Deer Creek Campground offers a beautiful setting with clean facilities, friendly camp hosts, and great access to the lake, making it a popular choice for camping and outdoor activities. Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained campsites and ease of reserving spots online. However, some concerns were raised about limited restroom availability, occasional cleanliness issues, and the need for more campground options, particularly during busy seasons. Overall, it remains a cherished destination for many campers.

Deer Creek is a small campground that virtually sits of the shore of Huntington Lake. Great place! We thoroughly enjoyed it. Its a one minute walk to the asphalted narrow trail that you can walk down for miles along the lake. There are many trees stumps but still overall nicely forested, unlike the devastation at, say, Bass Lake.
The campground host couple are VERY personable, and watching them work I see that they are a great asset to the National Forest service.
Impeccably clean restrooms with flush toilets.
Can't wait to get back!

Campsite 25 is decent compared to the others in Deer creek and the surrounding camps. Toilets, a sink, and non-potable water faucets are close. There is shade and a functional table and bear box at this site. It’s not super close to the lakeside like some other sites either, but you can still see the lake very well!
The factor that brings it down is the fire pit, which has evidently been disfigured by a car and makes the grill and parts of the exterior wall non-functional. Replacing this would be best.
I would give 3.5/5 stars if I could.

The ranger, bathrooms, and campsite were amazing. I didn't like my neighbors putting their tent next to us and watching a late night movie in their tent. It was unusual to see a projected movie on the other side of us. We also are seniors with an America the Beautiful pass and couldn't get any discounts on the last campsite remaining which was a double site. You would have earned nothing, if we didn't take it on the afternoon of, so we should have gotten a discount on a few levels.

Lovely campsite. Would not have been good with an RV-heavily sloped driveway. We stayed in Site#1 and right on the main road that wraps the lake. Noisy on weeknights as the trucks are still hauling out logs from the Creek Fire.

The camp host was the best camp host I have ever seen. She was always working, and the restrooms were the cleanest at any campground I've ever been to.

Stephanie, the Facility Manager was the most friendly & helpful I have met. She knows the area very well & recommends nice campsite alternatives. Carmen, the host at Deer Creek campground keeps the restrooms clean and smelling good through refreshners. Had the best experience so that I booked another stay after 7 days, in the same campground, Deer Creek.
