Manzanita Lake

Site C22 - Lovely quiet site with some privacy. No water spigot nearby is the only downfall. Otherwise it was a terrific weekend. Clean campground, clean bathrooms, quiet neighbors, towering trees, awesome Park Rangers ensuring safety.
Oh, but the bugs- sooooo many bugs. Bugs of all kinds. Big ones. Little ones. Flying, crawling. Nature be naturing, I guess.

Great campground with lots of activities nearby. Walking distance from general store and gas station.

Gorgeous campsite, very dusty, general store employees were very kind, showers were 6/10 but felt good on day #2, quiet campgrounds, beautiful lake with paddle boards and fishing.

Campground is well maintained with easy access to facilities. No cell coverage in camp. Only WiFi is available at the museum located near the main entrance. Store and restaurant are convenient and good. Be very careful when selecting a site if you are towing a longer trailer (over 20 ft) or have a long tow vehicle. Some sites are not easily accessible for backing in. Lots of pull through sites. Days can be warm, so be prepared. Nites are cool.

Lassen is amazing. I love Manzanita Lake. The trails are not very crowded and top notch. I am giving 3 stars to the campsite only. Sites are WAY too close together. They have people packed in too tight. They got greedy. I don't blame any of our neighbors, but it's hard to feel any type of solitude at camp with so many people nearby. Generators, banging pots and pans, talking. It's a part of car camping, but not at this level. The cherry on top: the worker who picked up trash near our campsite before 8am, blasting The Beach Boys, not a care in the world. Otherwise, I liked the facilities.

My fourth time camping at Lassen, my second at the Manzanita Lake Campground. Like the other times I've camped here, the site was great (Loop D), just the right amount of both sun and shade. Restrooms were cleaned daily, and the trash was picked up daily as well. This campground is great for families with kids, as it has plenty of places for biking, it's just a short walk to the Camp Store, and close to the lake for swimming & kayaking.

We have camped at Manzanita lake in june for the last 8 years and find it a peaceful place. The fishing is tough for native trout but that is the challenge. Its a little hard finding a camp site with sun to charge our batteries.

Our stay at the Lassen Volcanic NP was great. Being able to stay in the park was a plus since there aren’t any campgrounds in the proximity of the park. There aren’t many national parks that have sites that are able to fit our 42’ motorhome. One recommendation for those who like to visit national parks, take a look into Guide Along. It is an app that acts as your own travel guide as you travel through the park. Not only it give you recommendations for sites to see and trails to hike, it also give you a lot of history and great information about the park..

Despite a reservation, our campsite was occupied when we arrived, leaving us to scramble for an alternative. The campground host was nowhere to be found and totally unhelpful when we found her the following day. Sites were fine, the lake was beautiful, and the store was nice.
