Summit Lake North is praised for its great location within Lassen National Park, offering scenic views, easy access to hiking trails, and a beautiful lake for swimming. The campground is well-maintained with clean bathrooms and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite for visitors seeking a relaxing camping experience. However, some sites are closely spaced and lack shade, which may affect privacy and comfort.

This is a nice small campground on a beautiful lake. The host was very helpful. Our site (A1 - an ADA site) had a shaded tent site - essential due to the excessive heat. We shaded the picnic table with a tarp and were comfortable most of the day. Both a vault and flush toilet are very near, and so is the lake.

Thank goodness for a lake to swim in after a hot, dusty hike.

The site was clean and ready for us. It was a bit close to other sites but we were too tired to care much about that. The lake though small was pretty and warm. Beware the leaches if you stay close to shore (they were small, and my BF got them on his legs while he sat on the bank, I didn’t have any swimming further out). Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The host was friendly. So overall this was a great spot to camp along our journeys!

Summit Lake North is my favorite campground in Lassen. It was all wonderful. The host is lovely, knowledgeable and helpful.
Wish I did not have to listen to someone playing their guitar until 10 at night. Other people's music is enjoyable when I like it and it fits the situation. But varies from distracting to annoying otherwise, esp when it continues for several hours.
There is a routinely encountered care on the part of various members of staff every time I visit the park. Professional and enjoyable.

The site we selected was supposed to be a back-in, instead it was half a pull thru, with someone else in the other half of the site. We could not back in because the angle was wrong for the direction of the one-way road. We had to pull in, and since we are a pickup camper, our door was at the road. The description of this campsite is not good. The host said there have been issues with the site all season. There were other larger pull thrus and none of them had been halved. It was truly half a site, and I should get half my money back. Site A5
