The site is great, just by the river, but the proximity to I-80 ruins everything! Spent only one night here and was more than happy to leave in the morning!

Arrived to find that another group had taken one of the two sites I reserved. Fortunatly we had some Scouts and a parent backout so we could fit into the one site. We had a beach front site and the boys loved having access to the river. This is a very loud campground with noise from Highway 80 24/7 and on the other side is noise from the trains going by. After awhile you do tune out the noise but not the place to come if you want to sit and listen to nature. Bathrooms were clean and had toilet paper. Camp Host was friendly and addressed the campers in the wrong spot. (They had come up early in the day, before the Host had flipped the signs from "Open" to "Reserved"). This was mid September and there were plenty of open spots for first come first served. Reserve early if you want one of the beach front sites.

The campsite itself was great, very convenient to be right near the bathrooms and a water spigot, especially because we arrived after dark! The only downside to the whole campground is that it is literally right next to the freeway and the sound of traffic is constant. There was some garbage left behind by previous campers (including silverware??) but other than that it was fine!

We always have a good time here. The freeway noise is loud but we don’t mind.

Cute campground. Yes it's near the freeway but the drive from Sacramento is easy and the waterfront campsites basically have a private beach. Camp host keeps everything very clean.

Expected considerable traffic noise from I-80 and were not disappointed. Access to the Yuba River was a bit difficult, but doable to anyone who really wanted to dip their toes in the water. Separation between sites is excellent with tall thick green folliage.

Like many reviews, the freeway noise is very noticeable when sleeping in a tent. First time tent camping here, usually in a motorhome. Nice creek to float in, was 75' water, but was 105' in Sacramento that week. Air temp was about 92' with a slight breeze, so the creek swimming was great.

I was prepared for the highway noise (which I got used to) but was not prepared or aware of how little room there was at any (?) of the campsites for tents. I probably missed some notice somewhere when booking...

Big Campsite, the creek is right across (passing through a campsite) the creek is deep enough to enjoy a dip, less to no people as most of the people go to the main natural pool

From Truckee, Calif., take Highway 80 west 17 miles. Take the Rainbow/Big Bend exit. If westbound, turn left under the freeway to the campground entrance. If eastbound, turn right at the stop sign.
