A great campsite pretty far away from highway noise. The camp host has firewood to sell which is super convenient. Very well maintained vault toilets and don't really smell much. Lots of mosquitos, so bring bug spray.

I love this campground- I’ve visited here multiple times now as a solo camper and with others. There are no bad campsites and you can hear the river from each one. Hosts are incredibly nice. No service, but there is a small town nearby (downieville) if you need to reach someone. Bathroom is well maintained, dumpster is onsite too. Great hiking trails nearby with tons of shade. Make sure to bring mosquito and tick spray. I plan on continuing to visit this site and be there again very soon.

Pros - 1.) The RIVER! There are multiple great swimming spots and you can hear the running water anywhere in camp. 2.) The bathrooms were clean and smelled good! 3.) The hosts were also very kind and gave good local recommendations.

Cons - Only 1.) Our reserved site #14 was very close to the neighboring sites. We moved to the open FCFS #12 spot that was luckily available, otherwise we would have been very uncomfortable with the space provided at #14.

5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had a great experience at this campground! The sites were clean, peaceful, and well-maintained, but what really made the stay special was the camp host. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of. It’s clear they really care about the place and the people visiting. I’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommend!

What makes a beautiful place better is having a good camp host. This year we had our favorites back, Steve and Cash.
Always friendly without being intrusive, and they keep this pit toilets in tip top condition!
Much better than last years experience with different host.
