Beautiful campground on Haypress Creek. Vault toilets cleaned in a regular basis, fantastic hiking options in the vicinity - definitely try the wild plum loop, round lakes trail. Creek was beautiful, cold and pleasant to dip your toes in after a long hike, there are swimming holes along the creek and in Yuma River nearby. Sierra city is a charming old mining town, recommend the Kentucky mine museum and Downieville for historic information and pictures.

We had an awesome spot right by the creek. A fun place to poke around, not at all buggy, and great white noise for light sleepers!

The trash bins are extremely difficult to open especially for seniors. The campground is full of downed trees and dried brush. A fire hazard.
