The best camp ground around awesome sites with the creek next to it. I will always camp once a year here

Due to lack of camp host and minimal forest service presence, reservation system for campsites was ignored in some cases. Our campsite had campers in it when we arrived. They were polite and moved but a hassle non the less. We witnessed the same problem at a site near us when a camper left his site leaving beach chairs to indicate it was occupied. Other campers moved into the site and put chairs against a tree. A confrontation ensued when he returned and lasted quite awhile. Ended with unhappy campers.
Many sites that were reserved went unoccupied .
Our stay was pleasant but many campers and potential campers were confused by the lack clarity regarding the availability of campsites.
With no camp host the dogs on leash rule was largely ignored.

Nice spot, a little crowded and tight layout but overall nice. Great jumping off point to explore Sierra buttes area. Caught fish in haypress creek. A couple of mosquito bites but not bad at all.

Wonderful site along Haypress Creek. The best view ever. Shady with some sun at times. Loved our stay and will return next year.

Campground sites are a bit crowded and people bring a LOT of equipment, vehicles, trailers. The biggest issue is that when we got to our campsite #28 on July 17th, the campsite next door, #27 was completely trashed--though still occupied, the resident campers were no where in sight. There was open food and trash everywhere, cans and cups strewn about, along with clothes and equipment. We felt very uncomfortable being next to this mess, especially in bear country. Nearby campers said that the occupants were a father and his sons and that they were pretty rowdy. Luckily, we were able to join a friend on the other side of the campground but everyone could hear the group late into the night of the 17th. The site was quieter the night of the 18th but still extremely messy. The Forest Service should blacklist whomever reserved that site #27 on the nights of 7/17 and 7/18. Those folks don't know how to be good campground citizens.

We've always enjoyed Wild Plum campground and the area. The hiking in that area is wonderful with the PCT within a half mile from the campground.

In accordance with standard industry practices, we will be assessing a $5 additional vehicle fee on the 'second vehicle' in each single family campsite, and on the 'third and fourth vehicle' in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles. |
