Wild Plum is one of my favorite campgrounds. Right on Haypress Creek, views of the Sierra Buttes, low fire pits so you don't have to stand over the fire to keep warm, and close to Lakes Basin and Plumas-Eureka State Park for wonderful hiking.

Great camping area but my reservation went to someone else. We never saw the host and had to use another site. Fortunately there were open sites because we arrive Friday morning in the Fall.

The Wild Plum Loop Trail does not have a sign in the upper end of Wild Plum Campground and where it leaves the access road to connect with the Pacific Crest Trail to return to Wild Plum Camp Ground. Over all, Wild Plum Camp Ground is a wonderful campground.

Late season, still in great shape. Some garbage left behind a few sites down by the creek :-(

I'm happy that this place let us burn our firewood. During this time of the season, no other place here in northern california would let us. I was able to book last minute as well.

Absolutely beautiful camping site. My nephew and I loved walking and wading in the stream. Salmon lake with an inner tube, kayak, or paddle board is wonderful. Bathrooms were pretty clean. All in all, We loved it and can’t wait to go back.

Cute campground. Campsite 1 has huge waterfront access. Seems like it should be the designated beach for the campground. Late arrivals Friday night, after 10 pm, made for a rough sleep. No host. I don’t recommend space 10. Right beside the vault toilets, which were kept clean, but still “up wind”. Short drive to many lakes and loves falls was a nice hike.

Wild Plum is our secret spot! Between the lower Hwy 49 campgrounds and the Sierra Butte campgrounds it is often bypassed by the crowds. It sits on a lovely little year-round creek. It's a quiet place and only minutes from Sierra City where you'll find cell service, a store, and if needed a very cold shower at the public restroom. Day trips abound including a nice loop hike from the campground itself with lovely views of Sierra Buttes and a place to take a dip in the creek along the PCT.
