Camp host was great, helped us through the process when we didn't have a reservation after our 200 mile drive! Camp site was great and enjoyed our mountain bike rides on the trail system!

Nice C.O.E. Campground on Black Butte Lake. Some pads a fairly small and not very level. We ended up switching sites to BH04 to accommodate or 30 foot trailer and truck. Camp host came by that evening and made the switch for us. Very helpful in getting us switched. One of the few COE campgrounds that Ive found open year round. Several hiking trails start out from the CG. We didnt us the dump facility but we did get fresh water. There is a tap near the dump station and also scattered throughout the CG. We camped at Buckhorn Campground / Black Butte Lake in a Travel Trailer.

We took a trip the weekend of Nov 12th. The view of the lake and Black Butte is amazing from most campsites. Try to get a site right on the shore for the best lake views, or high on the hill for great views of Lassen Peak and Mt. Shasta. The only negative about our trip was that the nearby bathroom was closed and had a porta-potty that was almost completely overflowing with waste, rendering it unusable; we had to drive or walk 10 minutes to use a decent restroom.

Buckhorn is a beautiful park. It is very well laid out and maintained. The came host met us on arrival, and came by several times during our three day stay. Dump station was clean and easy to access. Verizon cell and data very strong. Only negative is that many of the site will require more than average effort to get level. We did not use the restrooms.

It was very quiet and peaceful the Fall night we were there, between rains. Jim, the Host made sure we were settled in for the evening and was most helpful.
