Lake low. Good overnight stop. Bathrooms could use some work.

Reservations are required in advance, you can't select a site and pay at Buckhorn, which I am not happy about.

it was our first visit at Black Butte. There is a gorgeous lake with the same name great for fishing. the whole area is beautiful, rolling hills with oaks, black buffs overlooking the lake. the night sky was carpeted with stars and almost no light pollution. I am definitely coming back and will explore the trails and fishing.

Lazy people running the place. The bathrooms where nasty. Cobwebs with daddy long legs just hanging out. Nothing was stocked on my arrival. I stayed 3 days. It's a beautiful place. Great sun sets. But management needs to step it up. It gets better. On my second night my neighbors a couple sites down decided to be loud and shoot off fire works. I didn't give a shit. It's campING, have some fun right?. But when the third loud ass fire work went off and they caught the dry brush on fire and had a hard time knocking it down I was like this is bullshit. Wasn't gonna say anything but when I noticed them still at the site on my third night I was like hell no. I called Management and left a message because no one answered. They never called back. The guy did come in his golf cart and crused a couple of times and that was it. Never got a call back or he never even stopped to reassure me that every would be handled. Unprofessionalism and laziness. People like that should NOT be running a campground.

The first few days were awesome as there was only us and two other RV’s. Over the weekend it filled up and we did have a lot of people walking right through our site which was annoying, but what can you do? Otherwise, the campground was super clean, there was a sanitation station and water station which was nice, and it was a pleasant experience. Our only real, and very minor, complaint is that our pull through site was so unlevel from left to right, like 6” on the front left and 8” on the rear left. We just blocked up and called it a day.
