What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

I had a great trip with my daughter. The campground was quiet and everyone was friendly. There’s so much to see within Kings Canyon and Sequoia that you should def give yourself at least a few days to enjoy and see what’s out there. We saw a good amount of wildlife and the sequoia trees are unreal.

Nice site. Right next to the bathrooms. But the campsite is at a slant. So if your in a tent be aware. I had a sleeping pad on the ground and kept "rolling" down. Otherwise nice site.

Driving in and finding our camp site was easy and accessible! When we arrived we set up camp, we had clean potable water, ash disposal, trash and restrooms near by which was convenient. At our campsite 97 however, we had a huge yellow jacket issue our entire stay. All of our meals had meat which they are attracted too so by half through our trip we were eating in the car. That was a bit of a bummer but for our first time camping in area, that was the worst it got. Bear boxes were good ours was place in direct sunlight so our 100q cooler couldn't stand a chance. We had to buy ice again while we were up there. Our camp site was clean and the previous campers left us more than enough wood so we didn't need to buy any. The other perk we found was the Grant Grove market within walking distance to the camp ground. Anytime we need something or simply wanted to skip a meal and grab a burger there, it was available. I look forward to camping here again in the future. Definitely bringing a bug net canopy next time.

We enjoyed our time at campsite 11. As others have said it’s a short walk to the general store and Grant Grove. My favorite part was watching all the chipmunks and squirrels run around the whole weekend. The site is also very close to Panoramic Point where we drove to at night to join a ranger guided tour about wildlife after dark.
The only negative about this campsite for us was the yellow jackets. As soon as you bring out food, a dozen or so will start flying around. They weren’t aggressive towards us but we’re still an annoyance.

Everything you'd expect at a national park campground, with more space between sites. There's a trail right from the campground to the Grant Grove and visitors center.

No host. I get to my site and of course there are people in my site with their tents set up. I do this to escape drama. Just after dark, a bunch of people in your site and all campgrounds full. That’s drama. Noise was really bad that Saturday night too. A large group(15-20) just having a grand old loud time deep into the night . I will file a review with superintendent and hope others will complain also. I just happened to mention this to another camper and they had 11 people and 2 colourful vans in their site. I shared my site, he didn’t. Entrance has two signs. Every day the same- On one side ‘FULL’ the other side ‘OPEN’ ’. I camp all over the country and am astounded that a campground of this size and popularity has no host. Terrible experience.

Clean and beautiful camp grounds. Always leave it better than you found it! Even if you see a bottle cap that wasn’t yours, pick it up and put in trash, please.
Bear lockers, grill, table provided.
Only negative is no showers. If they had pay for showers that might offset cost for maintenance
