What Guests Are Saying
Azalea Campground offers a beautiful and spacious setting, ideally located near Grant Grove and various hiking trails, including those to the General Sherman Tree. The campground is well-maintained, featuring clean restrooms, fresh water, and friendly park staff, contributing to a peaceful and relaxing experience. While some sites may be uneven and restrooms are a bit distant for some, the overall atmosphere, wildlife sightings, and access to nature make it a memorable destination.

We were there in the later part of September. The weather was fantastic (not as cold as Lodgepole) and Grants Grove was heaven sent. The campsite was lovely and located very conveniently for all that we wanted to see.

I took my boyfriend on a camping trip here at the end of September. It was a great trip. The weather was great, sunny and clear in the low seventies in the day, forties at night. There was great stargazing, and we saw deer, ravens, blue jays, squirrels, and chipmunks. The grant grove market is nearby, so we went about once a day to buy more wood for the campfire. I bought our park entry passes and reserved the site in advance and obtained California Campfire Permits. However, we didn't see a ranger the whole time and no one checked our reservations/passes on the way in or out of the park. Fine by me, as I don't mind supporting the National Parks. Each campsite has a bear box. As there were four of us in total, we all camped on one site, but also reserved a second site so we could have access to a second bear box, which we definitely used. All-in-all, it was a great trip.

I love this place. The campground was very clean and the campsites were not too crammed together. Easy access to the Sequoias which were amazing to see. The General Grant Sequoia was beyond belief. I highly recommend this campground and will definitely be back.

This place is magic! The trees are just fascinating! Creates a sense of wonder! The campground is very well kept. It’s not necessarily quiet and I would say it’s kind of a “suburban campground” with a visitor center, hotel and restaurant. Four stars though! Can’t wait to come back!!!

Overall very nice campgrounds. In a very good location and very well-kept.
The only think is missing I think is the showers.
