We had no idea the water receded yearly to expose these campsites until the ranger told us. It was a beautiful area with the water being a simple drive away. We played in the lake one day and sat in the river the next. It was just what we needed in the heat. The bugs were not too bad, just a few annoying flies around dinner time. The street noise could be distracting. I wish there were more port-o-johns and the water was better labelled for visibility. The shower house was atrocious with no lighting, filthy, and several broken elements.

This is an awesome location very close to Sequoia NP. Rangers are friendly and knowledgeable so they can help you get the most out of your trip. Yes, the bathrooms need some work but hopefully they'll upgrade them soon. Overall it was a great stay.

Bathrooms were closed with porta potties outside. There was no one in the office to ask questions about where water could be found. We had to drive around to find water for cooking.
There was no lake, it seemed to be way down, so campground was not near any water. The one positive was the shower water was warm.

Fantastic (was there during the week). Bathrooms clean and shower exceptional. Some road noise but then it's next to a road.
