We stayed in site #51, which is a boondock, back in. Leveling was a challenge in our 39'MH but doable. We had a picnic table and fire pit. The view from our site was incredible. We had a pleasant experience with all staff we spoke with. Roads in the park are a little narrow with a few sharp turns which made navigating our rig a bit difficult. Definitely recommend disconnecting the toad at the office. We were able to stream with AT&T, but cell coverage was spotty. Sequoia NP is less than 30 minutes up the road. As with most all COE parks, it was quite clean and well maintained.

Keep in mine I went in March! It has a great view of the lake and mountains! The sunset and sun rise is beautiful also!! There some shade but not much, it’s walking distance to a water valve and the Restroom are up the hill across from the office(when I went the bathrooms weren’t working so they had porta potties but they were cleaned ever other day) and there’s another bathroom that has showers(there’s hot water!) but that’s on the other side of the campground if you want to go on adventure you could walk there but be careful because people think the campsite is for day use or first come first serve so they will drive in and leave, if they stay the Park Rangers will tell them to leave and explain the rules. The Park Rangers drive around often to check up on the campground there’s a maintenance guy he’s pretty cool just don’t mess up the campground! But it’s very peaceful for the most part when I went, I’m already going back in a couple of months but at a different campsite got to find my favorite one but so far my number one!!!

It's nice campground but did notice people just show and take spots that aren't there's. People across from us stayed up arguing till 2:30 am. Had people not camping there driving fast through campground.

The area looked great. Great ambience. My site was a bit steep to keep my trailer level though. Showers were hot but i had to keep hitting the button in the mens shower every half minute to turn it back on. Besides those inconveniences id definitely go again.

The proximity to the National park is great and the staff are very helpful and kind. That’s about the only positive thing I have to say. The park is in severe need of maintenance ie. erosion control, mowing down burr, and cleaning wood debris from a flood from over two years ago. Sad to see a USACoE in this state as they are typically very nice from my experience. Additionally, there were homeless drug users camped out right next to the showers and they’re smoking in the bathrooms and doing their laundry in the showers. Then hanging all their laundry at the campsite right next to the showers. Unsightly. Nice people, I spoke to them for about an hour but California seems to have some backwards policies as this doesn’t exist anywhere else we’ve camped across the country.

My Wife and I enjoyed our experience at horse creek campground. And the park rangers was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and professional. And the recommendations an other sites was a plus. During this off peak season I highly recommend checking out various sites.
