What Guests Are Saying
Sheep Creek Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with spacious, well-maintained sites close to the South Fork of the Kings River. Campers appreciate the scenic drive, clean facilities, and friendly park personnel, making it an excellent base for hiking and exploring the area. While there are no garbage bins on-site and some wish for shower access, the overall experience is highly rated, with many eager to return.

This campground was very clean & close to a lot of points of interest in Kings Canyon. Being close to the river was also a plus.

Campsite was clean when we arrived. All rivers we went to were peaceful. Not too many campers which was a plus for me. Only one thing I had a concern is the bathroom do not have light at night. Solar lights at least outside restroom. It's dark after 9pm. My opinion.

The campsite is quiet and by the river. There is no problem with the campsite. The website to reserve a campsite, however, was quite difficult to use. We had to set a timer 30 days before we wanted to go and be on the website right at midnight when a campsite became available because the website lists all sites reserved for up to 30 days. But when we got to the actual location (30 days later)- 80% of all the campsites were empty but had "reserved" signs on them. So what the reservation website is listing is incorrect information. And "no-shows" need to be penalized financially for not canceling so that people who want to camp are able to get a site if it is not occupied. The park no longer allows walk-up camping so we could not just drive in and find a site. Online reservation is required and you have to reserve 30 days in advance. But at the location, the whole campground was basically empty either because the website makes it so difficult to reserve or because over 20 families decided not to show up that week. Someone needs to be more attentive to the user experience for reserving sites online. And make it expensive to not show up since it robs others of a chance to stay in the park.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
