What Guests Are Saying
Sheep Creek Campground offers a beautiful and private setting with clean facilities and friendly park personnel. It's an ideal spot for exploring the Kings River area, with spacious campsites and abundant free firewood. While there are some concerns about wildlife and theft, many guests highly recommend the campground for relaxation and nature experiences.

Es un hermoso lugar. Para estar en contacto con la naturaleza y recordar que también tiene vida. Es maravilloso pasar tiempo con los hijos en este hermoso lugar.

I would have liked more camp sites available, there were so many reserved that the only camp site we were able to get didn't have shade from the sun, all others around us did have shade but were unoccupied yet reserved online, thank you for taking the time to read this!

Too many people leaving food out for the bears and then had bears in the camp. Three times in the middle of the night.
Also the restrooms needed cleaning attention!

Place is amazing Anywhere you are in sheep creek camground, is only a few minute walk to the creek. Scenic landscape, that leave you humbled by the towering cliffs. Stream of cold water babbling over and around rocky spots. Really beautiful. Lots of bears

Our campsite was in a perfect location adjacent to the creek. It was a very serene location and we befriended a blue jay that decided that wake up time was 5:15 every morning. The women’s restrooms were very clean and up-kept, but the men’s restrooms could have used a little more upkeep. Another area of concern is that other campers decided to not follow campfire rules, we could have used a little more presence of the rangers. There were 2 bear sightings which I personally thought was fantastic. We visited the Boyden Cavern which was stunning. I am disappointed that there was not more advertisement for it since we only stopped by to see what it was. Grizzly Falls and Roaring Falls were nice, can’t wait to visit in spring when the water really gets going. We got a fishing license and visited Hume Lake, we didn’t catch anything but saw others who did. The Horseback riding through the Sequoia Park was beautiful and well worth upgrading to the 2hr ride.
Overall we had a fantastic trip and hope to come back in Spring.

Horrible experience. Had reservations for three nights. We came and left the same day. Really noisy, no showers, no parking close to the creek. Being handicap can't walk that far. Very disappointed. Lost the money we put in to the trip.

.Tire Chains may be required at any time. Be prepared at any time of year for a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions. Check Road Conditions at nps.gov/seki. Vehicles longer than 22 feet (including trailers) are not advised between Potwisha Campground and the Giant Forest Museum. Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible. Falling Objects - Don't linger under dead, cracked, or broken branches. Run if you hear cracks or snapping from tree roots, trunks, or branches (know that sometimes there is no sound, and very little time to react). Report falling branches or trees to a ranger. A California state fishing license is required to fish in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, and Sequoia National Forest lakes and streams. Fishing licenses may be available at National Park and National Forest markets. |
