What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

This site is on a slant . Upon arrival we noticed that the picnic table was going to slide down if we put anything on it. I dont know if the people that were there with their RV did that since it looked that they did some digging. We managed to use the shovel for the ashes to flatten area to be able to use table. we had two small tents on there and it was a tight fit with site being on slant. Firepit was close to the edge of hill be careful when placing your chairs. Restroom was conveniently right across drive way and water spigot was also on the next site over. Would not recommend getting this site for a big 6+ tent because you would likely be unable to fit it and if you did you would be left walking on the slant the whole time not cool.

Was there for 4 nights at the end of July and I have no complaints and if there were, the trees would make up for everything!!!. The restroom was within view of our site which made it easy to watch the kids go wash hands. The bear box was plenty of room for our cooler, pans, and all things scented. Highly recommend having a good flashlight at night if going to restroom and glow sticks to be able to see the kiddos. Also a big water container and bin to make dish washing easier. Grant grove village where you can get all your essentials and souvenirs was within a short walking distance. There was limited wifi, you would have to stand either right next to post office or by visitor center.

This site location was amazing! The site was easy to get to, close enough to restrooms and the site itself was flat and easy to set up with plenty of space. Also used two of the trees on the site to hang a hammock!

Campground was clean and well designed. Rangers were extremely friendly and helpful. We were planning on staying only one night and ended up staying for three
