What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

Site was good and we went with another family that had the next available site which was every other. If it was all open the site would had felt crowded. Almost on top of each other.

Beautiful campsite, but a bit small for 6 people. Campsites are pretty close together and I would recommend booking two sites near each other for groups with over two people or more than one tent.

Stayed Sept 26th-27th in spot 130. Spot was almost level with plenty of shade, and had easy access to bathroom, spigot, and dumpster. Camping seemed very roomy due to CoVid-19 restrictions. During the regular season you'd be on top of your neighbors. Had a great time camping. However, I couldn't give it a perfect 5 stars due to noise (from other campers as well as being close to the road) and abundance of yellow jackets. I understand we're in nature, but the yellow jackets were more aggressive than the bears the second your food came out. Was able to get decent enough cell reception to make calls and texts with my Verizon phone. Sporadic texts/emails came through my AT&T phone overnight.

It was a great camp site. It is clean and safe. I like it because you can easily walk to the Grant Grove market. A two mile hike to the Grant Tree. A 30 minute drive to Sentinel Campground which you can swim in the river. On the way, you can also visit Hume lake. Overall, I love it and plan to go back in the Spring.
