Went to the campground for labor day weekend and the campsite was like the wild west. There were no park rangers after 6pm and people had loud gas generators running past quiet hours. No one was there to enforce anything. Also, the bathrooms were filthy and ran out of toilet paper by Saturday, and were not restocked when we left on Monday.

A few issues with my recent stay:
1) it was by far the rowdiest campsite I've ever been to. Quiet hours were blatantly ignored by many groups, including the group site that was right behind our site - music playing and loud talking well past midnight. That particular group also tied a dog to a tree that barked constantly, including from 3-5am. We talked to the ranger but that didn't seem to do anything. Multiple other groups around our site were very loud past midnight, including leaving bright lights on.
2) We counted 13 campsites that had well over the 6 person max. The group next to us had 9, we saw another non-group site that had 17 people! I'll grant that MAYBE they had multiple sites next to each but it didn't look like it by the way the tents were crowded together.
3) there was very little flat ground at campsites, not just ours. We walked around to see the overall grounds and most tents were on some sort of slant. It made for pretty uncomfortable sleeping.
I wouldn't return to this campground

Kings Canyon National Park is easily accessible from Fresno, California. Take HWY 180 East from Fresno, and proceed 55 miles to Kings Canyon National Park. Three miles east of the Big Stump Entrance Station you will find Sunset campground on your left.
