What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

Sunset campground was in a great location for hiking! We were able to take two really incredible hikes within a 45 minute drive. The campground had good amenities and I'd definitely come back!

our campsite was within walking distance to the info center, store, cafe - might be a good idea for anyone booking to look at a detailed map on exactly where each campsite is located relative to bathrooms, roads, other campsites, etc - you can always call the Park - they might take a couple days to get back with you but they will
BOOK AS FAR IN ADVANCE THAT YOU CAN

Sites are close together, small, and no privacy but you’re close to the amenities of village and the park entrance. Holiday weekend crowd is rowdy and loud, so plan accordingly as there are no staff, day or night, on site to help negotiate the standards of shared spaces or limit the people coming in 2-4 AM. Staff must pop in occasionally to clean the bathrooms but we never saw anyone official. Would possibly go back on a weekday for the mountain side sites or if the plan was to drink and sing until the early hours.
