What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

Beautiful campground oveally but this could benefit from having some rangers or employees on site. TONS of people with fires during the fire ban, many sits with 12+ people (rules say no more than 6), noise until 2am minimum, filthy bathrooms etc. sad to see such a stunning piece of land degraded and disrespected. I initially thought the reviews complaining about the noise and rule breaking were exaggerating but now firmly agree that this campground is one of the most unkempt I have visited. There were also tons of barking dogs during all hours of the day and night, the bathrooms were never cleaned, and the lack of privacy led to a lot of children in our site and extremely close tents. Overall I do not recommend. This review is also coming from a 23 year old who typically does not mind noise and interaction with my fellow campers but this location was out of hand.

Our campsite very close to two other campsites so very little privacy.
Also on the adjoining campsite campers came in very late at night banging Car doors, bear locker doors, talking loud While we were trying to sleep in our tent.
And then, OMG, the yellow jackets were fierce!

The campground was perfectly located between Sequoias and Kings Canyon Parks. One day we went South and one day we went North. Loved all the trees.

Try for a campsite on the western edge, as these have a great view and thesunset ambiance of this location.

Absolutely beautiful campground, highly recommend sites in the mid to high 30’s and 100/102/108 for beautiful views of the sunset.
Only downside was how loud the campground was, forget the 10pm “quiet hours”.
