What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

I was initially disappointed that the Lodgepole campground was full the nights that I needed to come. I had not camped in the park for years and did not remember much about either area. After camping at the Sunset campground and then checking out the Lodgepole area I was glad that we couldn't get in. The Sunset camp ground is a lot less busy and I suspect quieter, which I prefer. I will camp there again.
Very Happy Camper!!

Nice campground with some amazing views! It is aptly names as the sunset is gorgeous here! You are really close to Grant Grove here so convenience isn't too far away especially if you forgot something on your way up. We also had decent cell service with Verizon here, not too good to do a lot of streaming but plenty to look things up, use maps, etc. My main reason for three stars and not more is a lot of the campsites are not flat or have a very little flat area for your tent, or that all the flat spots are taken really fast. Also this campground does have campsites right on top of each other so if you are looking for more space to spread out this may not be the campground for you unless you are reserving more than one spot next to each other.

The campground was great. We had a nice big site with plenty of space for 2 tents.
The parking was a bit tight for a van and a sedan, but we managed just fine.
The facilities were clean.
Overall, great experience.

We had a great trip to Sequoia National Park. This campground was clean and pleasant. If it only had showers it would be perfect!
