What Guests Are Saying
Sunset Campground is praised for its beautiful sunset views, clean facilities, and convenient location near major attractions in Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Many visitors enjoyed the serene atmosphere, ample hiking opportunities, and friendly staff. However, some noted issues with noise from neighboring sites and varying site sizes, which could impact the camping experience. Overall, it's a lovely spot that many would return to despite a few drawbacks.

It was peaceful and cooler (due to the elevation) than other camps. I had a lovely time. Plenty of trees for hammocks. Just beautiful. No cellphone service, but walking distance from visitors center where wifi is available.

There were large groups allowed to occupy camp sites that were maximum 6 people. It was like camping in a city park! No rest, no peaceful enjoyment of nature…. Far from a getaway! There won’t be a next time! My family and I packed up and left the evening before our scheduled departure and found a hotel. I only wish I could get my money and time refunded!!

Very let down by this particular experience. First off, no campfires allowed. Which I understand was a park wide mandate due to dry conditions, but while I followed the protocol, virtually every other camper was fires ablaze and NOT a single ranger enforcing the rule.
Quiet hours not enforced at all. A huge youth camp group woke everyone up at 5am, and no one from the facility bothered to say a thing.
Bathrooms clean for the most part.
No real way to wash dishes or clean camp cooking goods outside of restroom adjacent single sink.
Lovely views and generally clean sites. Still, will choose a different location in the future. Will not return to Sunset.
