What Guests Are Saying
Granite Flat campground is praised for its beautiful location near the Truckee River, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a popular choice for annual visits. Many campers appreciate the easy access to outdoor activities like biking and floating, and the well-maintained restrooms add to the positive experience. However, road noise from nearby Highway 89 is a common concern, particularly at night, which can detract from the overall tranquility of the site.

Granite Flat campground is always a gem. The truckee river that flows next to it was beautiful that day my family went. Since it was during the week, it was quite quiet in the campground with not too many people around. It was a very relaxing moment and the rangers that came by were really pleasant and nice.
Can't wait to go back!

Our site 18 was awful, road noisy and too close. Didn’t stay!

Large campground that sprawls along the highway. No site is further than 400ft from the road, so it's quite loud. The walk-in sites at the eastern side are right along the river and away from other campers, so not too bad. Highly recommend earplugs.

A campground in really beautiful canyon, with a river on one side and a very noisy highway on the other. The highway noise seemed to be reflected by the canyon walls. The traffic was loud all night, although less after 11 p.m. The noise really ramped up again around 5:30 a.m. One RV ran their generator for hours, but it really wasn't very noticeable over the cars and trucks on highway 89. We only stayed for one night and then moved to an RV park in Vacaville. The RV park was much quieter than Granite Flat, even though it was right next to Interstate 505!

We were able to spend 6 nights at Granite Flat. This was our second time visiting this site.
We love our site #31. Close to the river, it felt like we were the only ones around.
Don the camp host is awesome. We had 3 campsites that other friends stayed and the all loved the site.

This was one of the most beautiful campsites I have visited. There was a gorgeous path that led straight to the river. It was perfect for relaxing, bird watching, and wading.
The only downside is the proximity to the highway. During the day we could hear the cars from the highway, but it quieted down at night.

We plan annual family get togethers (9 sites) at Granite Flats, and have been staying there for years with no complaints. Normaly the Camp Host will make an introduction and go over the camp rules, bear danger etc. But this time the Host was only seen cleaning the bathrooms. He never spoke to anyone in our multiple campsite group. In fact we saw a family living in a car, stay in a nearby site, without reservations, leaving a bag of garbage and dog feces behind. We tried to contact the host, but they were not on the premises. His lack of oversight, involvement and management was non existent.
